Ministrul Culturii, Raluca Turcan, a anunţat că Guvernul a aprobat, joi, printr-un memorandum, un nou program de investiţii, „Temelii culturale”, pe care l-a propus pentru salvarea unor monumente istorice şi construirea de clădiri noi, cu destinaţie culturală.
Ea a adăugat că investiţiile vor fi realizate din fonduri contractate de la Banca de Dezvoltare a Consiliului Europei şi din fonduri naţionale. Costul total net al proiectului propus este estimat la cca. 262 mil. euro (inclusiv administrare proiect).
Între cele 113 monumentele propuse pentru reabilitare se numără și Palatul Reginei Maria din Mamaia la care va fi amenajat și terenul de 1,5 hectare aferent acestuia.
Doar că, dacă Palatul Regal din Mamaia a revenit definitiv în patrimoniului statului în urma unui demers al fostului ministru al Culturii, George Ivașcu, curtea palatului este astăzi privată și aparține proprietarilor care au deținut și palatul, firma Light System, la care acționari sunt persoane controversate, printre care și oamenii de afaceri Sorin Ovidiu Vântu și Dorin Cocoș.
Ce nu știe Curcanul de la Cultură e faptul pentru a putea fi amenajată din bani publici, curtea Palatului Reginei Maria din Mamaia trebuie să revină mai întâi în patrimoniul statului, fapt care se poate întâmpla prin expropriere sau prin răscumpărarea terenului de la proprietari, ambele proceduri implicând o perioadă lungă de timp.
